Happy Easter weekend everyone! My Easter started off with a trip to Charlie Miller in Edinburgh AKA the hair gods. I had my roots done and a white toner put in by Hayley at the South St Andrews St salon and I absolutely love it, just in time for the weather finally starting to heat up and the days getting brighter. Hayley showed me how to master the 'hair tuck' Ladies who are lazy with their hair rejoice: this year's easiest yet coolest style is upon us.

The hair tuck has been growing in popularity for a while now, but made its first real statement during the SS16 shows, where models at shows like Christopher Kane walked down the runway with their hair tucked into zip-ties.Fast forward to AW16, and the trend has officially gone global, taking Paris, London, Milan and New York by storm. At Missoni, hair was tucked into neck scarves, while at shows such as BCBG and Herve Leger, it was all about hiding your hair in your coat. This is a trend that not only looks chic, but will is as easy as popping a jumper on and heading out the door!

Be sure to call or pop in to any Charlie Miller salon to get the look!

I wish my whole wardrobe was filled with cute pieces like these Monki ones! I spent today in Lewis' pub doing uni work while he worked and then we took his dog for a walk, I tried to cycle this crazy BMX and he brought a penny board, I'm happy to confirm that there were no casualties. It's nearly the Easter holidays so I'm trying to do enough uni work before I don't have any classes so I can enjoy Easter/work more shifts!

Ellesse // Terraces menswear BellaMalone blog

ellesse menswear terraces bellamalone blog blogger aoifemalone

For the first time in Bella Malone history I'm chatting menswear, and in particular, Ellesse. Lewis and I are always checking out the sportswear section of Urban Outfitters and Ellesse is always at the forefront. Since its launch in 1959, Ellesse uk has become a sporting staple that effortlessly combines its natural Italian flair with classic athletic design. With an illustrious history that chronicles the brands advancement on the tennis courts and on the ski slopes, Ellesse clothing has since developed to become a lynch pin of classic sporting culture. With Ellesse t-shirts delivering an effortlessly sharp homage to the labels turn into becoming a firm urban style favourite, this influential Italian brand is now making waves in the fashion industry some 50 years on after its humble begining.

Ellese was started way back in 1959 by the Italian tailor Leonardo Servadio who after realising that the market had a lack of stylish skiwear available. Servadio decided to create his own brand with the aim to merge fashion and sport, this is something that changed fashion as we knew it.
Servadio saw sport as a way of life and wanted to create products that were both stylish and practical. In the 70's Ellesse was one of the only sports brands to be seen on the slopes, soon Servadio realised that Ellesse could be the brand another kind of sport, tennis was next.

Soon every tennis star was wearing Ellesse. Anyone who was anyone in the 1980s tennis world, from Boris Becker to Guillermo Vilas and Pat Cash, was adorned with the Ellesse logo. Every court from Roland Garros to SW19 sported the logo. Next on the hit list was football just as the casual wear movement in the UK was becoming big. Before long Ellesse was the main player in the casual wear market by combining comfortable, wearable clothing with stylish and contemporary designs.

After a few quiet years Ellesse came back with a bang after ASOS announced that they would be stocking the label. The gigantic British fashion shop–one of the biggest in all of Europe—starts selling an exclusive Ellesse collection. This was the start of Ellesse as we know it today, the urban streetwear brand that is sold everywhere from ASOS to Urban outfitters. Ellesse polo shirts, tracksuits and ski jackets are now seen on every high street in the UK. The cult brand that is now in every millennials wardrobe has come a long way from the ski slopes in France.

As an organisation, Ellesse has never forgotten Leonardo Servadio’s vision and have stayed loyal to his relentless belief in the marriage of sport and fashion. Over the years Ellesse have worked with a smorgasbord of both sporting and fashion icons, including the likes of Princess Caroline of Monaco, Alain Prost, Ferrari F1, Anna Kournikova and Eley Kishimoto. Fast forward to the present day, ellesse still have their passions and heritage at heart, continuing to build upon their legacy but staying true to its founding principles. Whether it’s being as ground-breaking as having their logo on the outside of a shirt (a move, which Ellesse famously championed before any other competing brands) or producing another clean and stylish fashion magazine photo-shoot, Ellesse have adapted to fulfil our needs, whether they be on or off the court.

Ellesse is stocked in Terraces Menswear, the Terraces menswear flagship store was opened in 2001, in the Stoke-on-Trent City Centre (Hanley.) Ellesse is stocked alongside many other brands including Farah, Lacoste and Paul Smith.

Happy Wednesday my dudes. Hope everyone is recovering after St Patricks day, I for one am still sleeping it off and I'm straight back on to my no alcohol detox. Lewis and I started early on Saturday and tried to get into a few Irish bars before giving up because it was snowing and there were around 70 people in front of us (no joke). We finally found a bar showing the game that wasn't packed out and stayed there for around 5 hours as we watched the glory that is Irish rugby unfold.

We shot this look the day before St Paddys and I'm obsessed with these satin shorts, I had my eye on them for weeks before I finally got them and I'm so glad I did. My flatmate Chloe and I also invested in a steamer which is perfect for garms like this one!

Eat yo crusts

Top- ASOS
Dungarees- Monki

Can you tell that I ate my crusts when I was younger? It's not often that I embrace my natural curls but the odd time that I do I start to love them. This only lasts a short time before I'm straightening it to within an inch of it's life again. Today I went to uni for the very first time without my flatmates which is quite a big thing for me because I'm a big fan of skipping lectures, especially if my classmates/flatmates are. My commitment to being off the booze is paying off as I've finally started getting some real uni work done and that means when St Paddys day comes around I won't feel guilty for enjoying it very very throughly.

My mum is coming to visit last minute tonight so we're going to have a movie night with the girls in the flat, then afternoon tea at the Dome tomorrow and a show tomorrow night also with the girls! My mama coming over is the real test for me when it comes to drinking cause she loves a Bacardi so I feel like I'm gonna be tempted to join her. Will keep you updated!!

Sleek em out

Hello lovely people, It's only 10 days into March but this marks my 10th day of being alcohol free. That might sound a bit ridiculous but Lewis and I have had a mad few weeks with trips and nights out so we've decided to go tee total for as long as we can. I feel so much better for it and it's made me finally crack down on the Uni work that I've been ignoring. I can't say how long I'll last without touching the devil drink but I will say that St Patricks day is next week and it's quite a monumentous occasion for me and my flatmates so time will tell.

Today I'm serving you casual Saturday vibes in the local spar after watching Ireland V Scotland (Ireland won!!). It's so nice to have a Saturday off, my manager very kindly isn't making me work during any Ireland games because he knows how riled up I get when I watch them so I'm at Lewis' for a few days.  I'm trying to get as much uni work done as possible because time is running away from us when it comes to deadlines.  One day I'll feel fab about uni and the next I'll feel like I'm going to fail, no in-between, I'm an all or nothing kind of gal.

Clue // less

Dress- Nasty Gal
Top- Nasty Gal

I feel like fashion/trend wise we've really gone back to the 90's and I'm loving it (obviously) I love the idea of girls wearing power suits and tartan skirts, tartan anything really. I'm especially feeling the chunky white trainer trend!! Theres some trends I know I'll never buy into, like joggers or the metallic puffer coat that was everywhere for a while, just not my thing and I know the trend will pass at some point. Suits and cute clueless inspired dresses however are timeless (In my humble opinion).

Also I wish I could say these beaut trainers are mine but they belong to my flatmate Adele, they're like walking on clouds but I'm always wary of high tops cause I think they really shorten my legs, I was assured by all flatmates that they don't which is why they've made an appearance.

Well suited

Jacket- DV8
Trousers- DV8
Sunglasses- PrettyLittleThing
Earrings- PrettyLittleThing

I've always loved a good suit but this one is really one of my favourites, it's from DV8 which has stores in Belfast and the quality is amazing. It's funny how people tend to associate a suit with a important occasion but I've been wearing this bad boy everywhere. I wore it travelling to Venice and I've worn it going to uni, it looks super cute with a pair of white trainers with the ends of the trousers rolled up and a bright t shirt. I've also been wearing these earrings non stop which is unusual for me as someone that rarely wears earrings but I got them on my last trip to PLT HQ and have fallen in love with them.

On the note of PLT our society page on the PrettyLittleThing blog has had an amazing revamp! You can check it out here , I'll post a cute pic from our shoot below, it really was an unreal day!

Embracing the puffer

Would you believe this is the first puffer coat I've ever owned? I resisted for a good year but when I saw this one, just before my trip to Venice I couldn't resist it. I genuinely thought I'd never have one, especially during last winter when every girl looked like a carbon copy of each other but after getting this one and realising how warm it is I regret not getting on sooner.
